ELMHURST – Looking for a way to give back to the community? The Elmhurst Rotary Club wants to meet you.
The Rotary has invited people from Elmhurst’s business and professional community to attend an open house from 5 to 6:30 p.m. Feb. 23 at Flight 112 Wine Bar and Restaurant, 110 W. Park Ave.
“Our guests will learn about our club’s commitment to Doing Good in the World through community and humanitarian service,” said Rob Kopecky, president-elect and membership chair, in a news release.
The parent Rotary International organization claims 1.2 million members devoted to efforts that advance goals such as literacy, peace, water and health. The Elmhurst Rotary Club has helped students at Elmhurst’s three high schools by providing more than $500,000 in college scholarships since 1955, according to the news release.
“Elmhurst Rotary supports a diverse range of philanthropic programs and institutions, including District 205 schools, Elmhurst Memorial Hospital, Elmhurst Library, the park district and YMCA as well as an initiative to Stop Heroin in Elmhurst,” the news release stated.
